Guess who's back? Sorry to disappoint but it's me. Let's get this bizznazz rolling.

I'm back into poker after a year long hiatus. I was living in California, playing SC2 with my broski-friend-pal Brian AKA TGR on LP.

Super cool right? lolnot.

Me with Artosis before getting assraped in the qualifiers lolol

We're both back in the game and playing our hearts out :D I've been playing again for about a month. Planning on grinding it out together in a place and going for big bucks when PokerStars finally comes back! (anyone know when the hell that might be approximately?)

Time to show my last 2 sessions, only because they were winners and it makes me look like I know what I'm doing. :D

CUT THE CAMERA TO THE GRAPHS! *swoosh*

I'm extremely pleased with this session. Mostly because I was card dead and didn't revert to my typical donk mindset where I start forcing hands. 2 big lost pots though. Advice plz

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/979584 KK v 55

I feel like that hand is just shit luck and I can't do much there. With the call and the way he played I had though AQ. Obviously I was wrong T____T

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/979585 AK v 44 same general scenario. just gross :/

Honestly not too much to note out of this session. Just a lot of rungood for me.

Now you may ask "What does this incredible poker Adonis listen to while grinding?!" and you're in luck!

not really. are you mad at me now? here's a troll song to cheer you up.

Justin Bieber + Blind Melon

heres a legit mashup so you dont hate me forever.

so today im moving up limits from NL5 to NL10 with 250$ currently in my roll, improved from about 85$ or so.

im currently down about 1 BI right now after losing a pretty lame hand (AA vs 87s, hitting 2 pair) but thats poker so its just best to move on and keep going.

are there any significant differences between NL5 and NL10? id assume so but id like to know if there are more apart from what ive observed so far.

thus far ive noticed a small increase in the battle for blinds and im seeing more LAG players which is fairly good for my roll since near all of them dont really know how to play LAG styles effectively. some players will actually lay down weaker hands on scary boards which is a nice change of pace. i get the feeling that most players are still fairly incompetent and wont lay down a lot of hands but theyll at least lay down garbage.

i felt i had the best hand after the flop when i bet and he only called, the queen came and i still bet for value. should i have checked the turn? in retrospect i think i should have bet more on the flop as well. although i get the feeling this guy wasnt folding on the flop no matter what.

clever title that grabs your attention
  Haunted, Apr 03 2011

hmmmmm now that ive actually accomplished step one and youre actually reading this trash i guess i should say something interesting.

i just started playing poker this month and im working really hard to improve and get everything straight so i can improve and hopefully making enough to live. i started off horrrrrrrrrribly and have made a pretty nice comeback.

in the first 2k or so hands or so im just running well and playing tight. after that i get cocky and start to loosen up and i get destroyed for playing like an idiot and constantly over committing to lost pots and try to win too many pots needlessly. from about 12k hands or so up until now ive been studying and working to improve my poker logic and overall process of analyzing the hands im in.

rekruls really the reason why im doing this, i loved how he put it that "poker is freedom". its pretty poetic the way i see it, poker unlocks a million doors for you at the end of the day. if youre willing to give it your all and do everything within your power to improve the game will be gracious to you and give you a good life.

ive been working about 12 hours a day studying and playing, im doing my best to be patient and pick my spots rather than trying to win every pot. after reading a bit of david sklansky's, barry greenstein's, and gus hansen's books it helped my view of poker tremendously and im getting a firm grasp on poker quickly.

***SUPER KEY POINT***
minimizing your losses is an absolute must.

5 Other Key things learned thus far.****
1 dont over commit to too many pots
2 big pots are for big hands, use checking to help control the pot size
3 dont be overly aggressive SB-EP, try to play only decent to strong hands OOP
4 get a read on their hand and stick with it (but obviously update your view of their hand based on incoming information), its better to be decisive and be wrong than be indecisive.
5 +EV is going to be +$ poker

ill do my best to post consistently and try to catalog my progress, feel free to comment on my hands. good luck

what could i have done to extract more here?
